After the Amazons escaped from Heracles and Theseus, the tribe of the Amazons split into two factions. Hippolyta led one faction, which was peace-loving, and Antiope, Hippolyta's sister, commanded the vengeful faction. Antiope was then murdered by Ariadne, and her foster-daughter, Phthia, took over and led Antiope's Amazons to make war with mankind. They later settled in Egypt and founded the city of Bana-Mighdall. The Bana-Mighdall sisterhood have forsaken eternal life by rejecting the Olympian gods in favor of other pantheons by giving up the Girdle of Gaea, under deception by Circe. To replenish their numbers, the warlike tribe of mercenary assassins made slave husbands out of men that they captured.
